Long only uses his spear as a last resort in defensive combat. It enables him to practice Vovinam (A Vietnamese martial art based on the principle of Yin&Yang). The spear is fairly new to him, and if anything he's better at hand to hand, but the spear does serve as a distance advantage. Long rarely resorts to using the sharp end of his spear on an actual person, though he does use it fend off other weapons and harvest. In combat, he will more often than not resort to

Long is not antisocial, despite his constant irritated expression. Though always one with a sour face, he is actually not that negative nor is he easily angered. He's not violent and only uses his martial arts for self defense. He doesn't tend to speak a lot, but when he does it's pretty to the point. In a way, he speaks through his actions. Long is an extremely hard worker, and is very dedicated. He tries his best to be supportive to those around them. Though not often attached he is very loyal. He doesn't discriminate against insects. Though he doesn't agree with some of their views he is extremely respectful to elders.
At an extremely young age Long's mother left him at the doorstep of random house in the insect territory. Though she probably left him there to meet a gruesome fate, Long turned out a lot luckier. The home belonged to a neutral old black beetle who took Long in, and raised him without discrimination. He was named Long by the old beetle. As Long grew up, the truth was obvious to him, so he tried not to be too dependent on the old beetle, though the old man would always insist he at least have the meals and shelter till he could fend for himself properly. During those years in the insect territory, from time to time Long would be attacked, one of the attacks scoring him a scar to his face. Though he can see perfectly fine from his right eye, be wraps it up to make it more easy on the eyes of others. When the old man finally found out about the wounds he was hiding, he taught him an form of Vietnamese martial arts called Vovinam for self defense. Despite these attacks he knew insects were not all the same, evident from the old beetle and the few friends he had there, who were kind to him. He also felt a certain guilt from always garnering the old beetle odd looks and disgusted lectures. The old man kept a nice garden behind his home that Long would always help him out with. That was their fondest memories. Long would always tried to find labor work from anyone who'd accept him, and slowly saved up enough money to move out on his own, though this time he moved to the crop territory in hopes of finally freeing the old beetle that had taken him in. At the insect territory, he makes a living from doing hard labor, and crops at the market he raises from his own little garden back home. He always remains grateful to him, and from time to time visits him. During one of his visits to his past guardian, the elder suggested Long attend Marigold's Garden. He agreed without a single question or any hesitation.
